Innovative box body for expedition vehicle

Coratec delivers wall elements for an innovative box body made from wood. The Unimog 417 will be presented by CLB Schweiz at the fair “Holz 2019” (hall 1.1 / A54), which takes place from October 15th to the 19th in Basel.

With the prototype it is shown that box bodies made from wood are an alternative to the more commonly used Aluminium or GRP panels. CLB Schweiz is doing this project with the help of selected universities and suppliers. As a basis, an Unimog 417 from Mercedes-Benz is used. The side walls are built by Coratec as a sandwich construct with our own core and specially impregnated wood skin layers. Due to the sandwich construction they are both, light and stable with an optimal thermal insulation.
