CORATEC SETS NEW STANDARDS FOR SANDWICH PANELS

Thanks to the newly acquired continuous press, panels over 2,200 millimetres can also be produced in the future. Managing director Philipp Zurflüh explains in an interview the concrete advantages in panel production for construction, transport and industry.

"In vehicle manufacturing and construction, we often need panels with widths, depths or heights of more than 2,200 millimetres, which we were not able to produce before. This is now changing with the new continuous press: Thanks to a press area of 3,000 to 10,000 millimetres, we will be able to produce panels in oversizes in the future," Philipp Zurflüh describes.

The heated continuous press is particularly flexible, for example for the series production of sandwich panels in different formats, surfaces and thicknesses. "In addition, the production of sandwich panels is more efficient, which makes us interesting for customers who need larger quantities," explains the managing director of Coratec AG. "The new continuous press is the ideal production tool for our company. We can now produce large panels in large quantities and still have the necessary flexibility to produce individual and customised solutions," Zurflüh continues.

The sandwich panels in oversize will be available from November 2020.
